A: A credit is a service contract that allows you to purchase a project before completing it, then use the credit to place an order for that particular type of project.
Q: How can I purchase a credit?
A: Credits can be purchased through Heritage Makers Independent Consultants. If you do not have a consultant, please click here to fill out a form, and we will have a consultant contact you to help you get started.
Q: Where can I see the credits that I have purchased?
A: Go to My Studio>>My Account>>Publishing Credits. To see details about a specific credit, click on the project type for that credit.
Q: Do I have to purchase credits before I can order books?
A: No. You are welcome to complete a project in your account, then pay for it at the time that you place the order.
Q: What are the benefits to purchasing credits?
A: Credits are often available at discounted prices for packages and promotions. Your consultant can let you know what the current prices and promotions are.
Q: How do I use a credit to place an order? How do I redeem my credits?
A: Click Publish on the project that you would like to order, then continue through the steps to the shopping cart. In the shopping cart, you will enter the quantity of the project, then select the number of credits to use toward your purchase. If you use credits for all of the projects that you are ordering, you will only need to pay for shipping and any extra pages that you have added at the time you check out.
Q: When do my credits expire?
A: Credits expire one year from the date they are purchased. To check the expiration dates of your credits, go to My Studio>>My Account>>Publishing Credits.
Q: Can I use one type of credit toward a different type of project?
A: Yes. You will need to call Customer Service at 1-866-MY-HEROES (1-866-694-3763) to place your order. The agent will apply the price you paid for your credit toward the regular retail price of the project you are ordering.
Q: Can I extend my credits?
A: One month prior to credit expiration, you will have the opportunity to extend your credit free of charge for a period of three months.
- To receive the free extension, you must extend the credit before the expiration date.
- One month before a credit expiration, a check box will appear in the Extension column of your Publishing Credits report allowing you to use the free extension.
- To extend a credit, click in the extension check box and select the Extend Credits button. The credit will automatically extend for a period of three months with a new expiration date in your Publishing Credits report.
- You may extend credits for three months at a time for a total of one year. After the year, you will no longer have the opportunity to extend the credit and it will no longer display in your Publishing Credits report.
