A THOUGHTFUL GIFT FOR A THOUGHTFUL DAD
For Father’s Day, Dacia Brewer—our newest professional graphic designer—created an 8x8 book for her father. Thanks to Dacia’s father’s blog, http://thoughtfulrunner.blogspot.com, we got the rare chance to see into the heart of a father and grandfather.

Have you ever wondered if you are really succeeding at what you do? Or if what you are doing is even making a difference? Or whether you have any idea about what you are SUPPOSED to be doing, let alone any inkling of how to do it, or how to do it well?

When it comes to work and my duties there, I have always had a certain amount of confidence in myself and my abilities. When it comes to being a Dad…well, that is a different story altogether. However, every once in a while, you get that sudden rush of gratitude and insight. You still know you fall awfully short of expectations, but just for a moment, you realize how wonderful a family can be, and that maybe—just maybe—a few of the things you did (or didn’t do) may have turned out all right.

A few days after Father’s Day, Dacia invited me over to give me a Father’s Day gift. I suspected some small item that they had ordered but had not arrived in time. I was in for a surprise. It was a beautiful book she and her siblings had put together(with me on the cover, would there be any other way to describe it?) about ME! Obviously, an enormous amount of time, effort, energy and coordination had gone into this—and I love it!

I have a wonderful family, great and gifted kids, and I have been blessed in unimaginable ways. Thank you.

HERITAGE MAKERS WANTS YOU…
…to design templates for us! We’re looking for a few good designers to create templates for Heritage Makers’ new Creative Center debuting in October.
  • Templates must be created entirely in Heritage Studio.
  • You must be a Heritage Makers independent consultant to contribute a template. Those simply wishing to create templates can sign up with an electronic Demo Kit available on the Heritage Makers website.
  • Each project should capture and share the story behind the photos.
  • A list of “in-demand” project themes can be found on Heritage Makers’ website.
To learn how you can participate and submit your templates, go to http://blog.heritagemakers.com and click on the link inside the “Template Designer Program” article.
NEW HM EXCLUSIVE TEMPLATES
To celebrate our country’s birthday, Heritage Makers has released two book templates designed to honor those soldiers who have fought to defend our country.

Call to Arms   This 8x8 book has been crafted to tell the story of veterans. Each page has an outline for authors to follow. As always, every page is fully customizable so that you can make the book uniquely your own. The papers used in this book were specially-created by our in-house designer for this particular book and its theme.

Tour of Duty   This 7.5x10 vertical book celebrates the service and sacrifices of soldiers who are serving, or who have recently served their tour of duty. Each page has guides and sample paragraphs to help you record the story of your soldier.

This collection also comes with two commemorative posters and two cards that can be sent to soldiers abroad.

Ask your consultant, how you can order these templates and get started recording a vital part of the personal history you share with our nation.

RETIRING THE CLASSIC PUBLISHING SYSTEM
July 31st at 7:00 a.m. (MDT) will be the last day you can start a new project in the Classic publishing system. You will be able edit existing projects until August 28th. On August 28th at 7:00 a.m. (MDT), the Classic system will be turned off and all new projects must be done in the Drag-and-Drop system. Once Classic has been turned off, you will still be able to reorder any finished project—however you will not be able to copy, edit or complete any unfinished projects.

We are currently transferring all of the Classic templates into the Drag-and-Drop system, so you will still have access to all of your favorite classic page layouts.
